Being as I am mostly laying on the couch until my back decides to cooperate again, I am taking great license in the word of the day. Charlie is a Red and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi and he is so much a piece of my heart. He is my Great Protector Boy and self appointed nursemaid. If it is at all possible, he is wherever I am. I really wanted to bond with this one as our first Corgi, Giggles, was very independent. I went by "How to Train a Puppy" by the Monks of New Skete. They raise and train German Shepherds. I leashed Charlie to me for much of the time in his puppy months and almost totally until he was house broken. I also did rounds of dog school with him and had a great time. So, body and soul, he is mine. He is so bad that he hates to go outside without me - which can get problematic. I also think, that if you really stretch it, that the way his head is cocked his face looks a bit like a heart.
@soboy5 Pain meds and muscle relaxants. I had back surgery twice about 25 years ago, injections since and lots of physical therapy. Three ruptured disks so now all that is left is fusion and I'm not doing that. I take pretty good care of it and know when to move it and when to put it to bed. Right now it is a time for rest. The camera really has helped with pain control.
@corgimom I knew you would like it! @hollandcrew Thanks Al. He's my buddy. @yonnie He's ten now and a great boy. @katieannb He is a sweetie. @grammyn Reflected off of our little bit of snow today - more in the forecast for the next several days.
@yonnie Thanks Yvonne. The surgeries were a long time ago now. Most days are wonderful - some are like now. I have a degree in taking care of backs. I am so grateful it didn't happen last week.
He looks very similar to the Corgi we had- Reese was his name. But as hard as my mother tried to train him, he was really meant for the wide open places and eventually we found him a home on a farm. Sounds like Charlie is more of a teddy bear than Reese was and thanks to your early training method, he's happy to be home. Sweet shot!
What a sweet looking little boy he is... and so nice for you to have taking care of you until your back decides to cooperate again! :) A precious photo indeed...
Take care of your back, Cathy. I hope you get some relief soon.

Get well soon Cathy, I love the fact that your first Corgi was called Giggles.
