I didn't take this - Gina did. My project so I am using it anyway! I sort of feel like sticking out my tongue and saying, "So There!" Time is the perfect subject for me. Feb. 18th, is my 62nd birthday - this was taken on the 17th. That does not depress me or make me unhappy in any way. It does, however, make me think of it's passage.
After church yesterday Andy, Gina and the boys came home with us and we partied all day. We had leftover Valentine's dessert with our sandwiches - unheard of. We had a few glasses of wine and played Candyland, Operation, Jinga and Yahtzee. In other words, we laughed all afternoon. Tom fixed pizza breads for supper and we had ice cream cake - my favorite - and "Happy Birthday" was sung in a variety of keys. I could not have asked for a better day for the last of my time as 61.
Today is going to be incredible! My best friend of the last 40+ years is taking me out to decorate cupcakes at a bakery that specializes in little girl's birthday parties. They said yes to having a big girl morning so I am really looking forward to that. Then we are taking our cameras wherever the weather and the spirit lead us.
I am very aware of the passage of time. That is why I have spent the last several years making sure that I treasure it, guard it, fill it with what thrills me and now documenting it here with you.
That's a very cool birthday. People get really hung up on age, all it means is that you've been around the sun 62 times now. If you had been born on Mercury you would be 257 but if you had been born on Saturn you would only be 2.
I realize your birthday is tomorrow, but I'll say it here today HAPPY 62nd BIRTHDAY. Isn't it funny, and since we are the same age (well, I am a month older ; ) I can say this, but don't you remember when you thought 25 was old??? Age is just a number. I hope you have a wonderful celebration--cupcake decorating sounds like so much fun. Good luck on your photography jaunt--can't wait to see what you capture.
Happy birthday, Cathy! I have you beat by a couple of years, and I also do not regret each birthday, but enjoy them to the max as they are not only a marker of time passing, but a reminder that I am still "alive and kicking" and how very grateful I am for that!
Such a lovely shot too!! Round the sun 62 times.....I rather like that idea!! Sounds like you all had fun and happy cake decorating too!! Very many happy returns!
Happy Birthday! What inspiring words! I also have a birthday this weekend and I will turn 61! I am so excited, because that means 1 more year of working then I will be off to retirement world. I want to have your attitude and treasure every day of this coming year!
I like your smile, Cathy and appreciate your giving us the happenings of the day - you are lucky to have people who will play games with you! I have to force people to do that! Happy Birthday today - its the 18th here now!
Happy Birthday! I'm right behind you! Can't say that I'm looking forward to it but like my Mama always says, "I'm glad I've made it this far." I loved your words and your attitude. You go, lady!
Age is simply a number and if you live your life to the full it shouldn't make any difference! Cup cake decorating party sounds like great fun. I hope you take some pictures to share. Sounds like your pre birthday day was an auspicious occasion :o) xx
Happy birthday. You are a beautiful woman who doesn't show her age. Like you, getting older doesn't bother me at all as long as I am healthy. I would dare say that it is even more fun.
Happy Birthday to you,
you look fab and happy,
Enjoy being 62! :)
