I'm not always a fan of the word of the day. There was no flower in my world yesterday. But today - I'd like you to meet Teddy. I have no idea how many years he has lain on my pillows after I make the bed. Tom gave him to me for Valentine's Day so long ago that I don't remember his age. This heart lays with Teddy and was also a Valentine's gift. We had many a year with very tight budgets. We never, ever did without. We just had to make do with what we had and raise two kids. I treasure these two as much, if not more, than some of the more expensive gifts that I have received. Tom always picked them out with great love and I have treasured them. So, meet Teddy!
Beautiful shot and beautiful story... one of the best birthday cards I ever got from Marvin was a hand-made one. He was coaching back then and our store was closed before he got done every night and he hadn't planned ahead enough to get one the previous weekend, so he made a very simple card with construction paper and markers... but it was filled with such love and thoughtfulness that I will never forget it.
He looks like new - and wonderfully soft!
After Ed (husband) left I couldn't part with the 2 teddies he had given me and gave one each to the children. Russ was in my shot this week ... still so soft and loved... :}
teddy is darling! and so are the sentiments that are behind him and the heart. I am with you on the tight years, but never having to do without. but those years made the things we have now even more meaningful
