Below Zero at Greater Cincinnati Airport by cdonohoue

Below Zero at Greater Cincinnati Airport

When we left Cincinnati for the Dominican Republic it was below zero. Obviously, we had to go to the de-icing station before takeoff. It was a very tough trip. We sat on the runway in Philadelphia for three hours with a mechanical problem. Don't get me wrong - I don't want to take off in a plane that isn't safe - but couldn't they have let us go back in the airport while they worked. Then, after takeoff when they decided to have beverage service they ran out of food and beverages. But we landed safely in 80 plus degrees. It was a pleasure to sweat.
Glad you made it safely with all the crazy weather.

My husband (who is a private pilot) always says, "I'd rather be on the ground wishing I was in the air, than be in the air, wishing I was on the ground."
I always think of that when there are mechanical problems on a plane. But getting off the plane while they work, would be a lot more comfortable!
Enjoy the warm weather! Hopefully when you get back, the earth will have rotated a little closer to the sun and we can start spring!

How do you run out of food and beverages - don't they know how many people are boarding? So glad you arrived safely.
