I'm going to do a little creative uploading here. As first and foremost it is my journal - I'm allowed. We went to Spring Grove last night to find some Autumn colors at sundown. What I found was their tribute to Veteran's Day. Since yesterday also would have been my Dad's 90th birthday it was only right. My father served in the Navy in World War II. He quit high school after Pearl Harbor and went to war instead. He actually thought that education was important and he graduated from high school when I was in kindergarten! He was a watch maker the majority of his life - a craft going by the wayside. When the store that he worked in closed he went to work making the timing mechanisms for Hellfire missiles.
I think about him every day, living here in the house that I grew up in. I sit her now where his chair sat. His tools are in the basement and the watchmakers bench that he built is now my computer desk upstairs. My folks are never too far away.
For those of us in the USA let's honor our Veterans and those serving now that have given us our every day lives.
