The Ram by cdonohoue

The Ram

I finally bagged my Big Horned Sheep!! I was so excited to finally see one up close - sort of - thanks to the lens. All of our trips west they have eluded me. We laugh that they go the other way when they know I am in the vicinity. This guy was right there as we first entered Zion National Park. Zion is barely a two lane road but I had told Tom to let me out of the car and I'd find him. I had to take my shot. This fellow obligingly stood there for about four decent shots. That ground is one layer of slippery rock on top of another, but these guys are uniquely able to make it their home. He didn't stay around long but at least I bagged my sheep.
Outstanding capture...love the details of the sheep and background rock

And what a magnificent job you did! I saw some several years ago in glacier national Park but they were a lot further away and the background was trees so they didn't stand out as nicely as this one. Most excellent

Love this. It's such an unusual sight for me. The ram's magnificent and his backdrop is perfect. Great textures and I love the monochrome palette too. Well seen and great take.
