To paraphrase a familiar saying, planting a tree is hope for the future.
This recent move hasn't been the easiest. We both needed one floor living, but we had to leave my childhood home. It was the house that my folks bought the year I was born - 1951. Tom and I had moved back there in 2001. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I had no idea how difficult it would be.
Let's skip the bad part and move forward to today. I am so incredibly blessed to have this roof over my head with the man that I am still in love with after almost 40 years. I am celebrating all of that by planting a tree - well, Tom is planting it.
A very pretty tree too Cathy. I can understand completely how you felt on leaving your childhood home & memories. When we moved in 1999 from the farm Harry had lived in since he was three he almost had a nervous breakdown. It was very worrying but he soon adapted thankfully. You know we have moved recently too & now in temporary accommodation while we renovate. I have no idea why we left it so late...it’s a massive thing to move but think how much better you & us will be all on one level. Hope you haven’t moved too far from your original house...that’s the hard bit!
I am so encouraged to see you making plans and moving forward! Attitude is everything and you’ve got a good one Cathy. Fabulous photo of your new life.
I understand how emotional that must have been. You had a lot of history in your former home- but think of all the history you'll make here. And to be honest- one floor living is so good for the joints etc! Your yard is going to look so pretty!
