16 years ago I held his mother's leg while Garrett Michael Braden made his way into the world and into our lives. He is my only grandchild. I never thought I would have one as his mother, Michele, had a daughter that is 20 years older than he is! But we were blessed with this very special young man. We went to dinner last night, just the five of us. We will celebrate again later this month at one of those places with lots for kids to do, but this was just for us. He is my joy. I tell him he will always carry a bit of me forward into the world. My son Michael is grinning from ear to ear.
