We have been trying to take our Christmas present trip to the mountains for weeks. The weather has not cooperated. Finally, we made it and spent my 72nd birthday in one of my favorite spots - the mountains. We went to Gatlinburg - but so did half of the world. We didn't pay attention to the fact that it was President's Day and kids had long weekends.. It was miserably crowded. So we did some of our favorite things and came home. We intend to return in April for flowering trees and wildflowers.
