It is 103 according to my thermometer and humid in Cincy. I need a light blue for my thumbnail challenge and have found that I must not be overly fond of that color. Not much around to photograph. And then I remembered that I am not only fond of that color, I am in love. You have met Maggie before. She is a blue merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi with what they call parti colored eyes. I loved her before she was born. I was on her breeders list to get a pup when I got an email that said there weren't enough in the litter. They had done a sonogram and Sophia was only having three pups - all promised to big time show homes. Mom was the 10th rated Cardigan in the US when Mags was born. I stayed on the list, crying over the photos of the puppies, I wanted her so badly. To make a long story a little shorter, when she was about 10 weeks old they finally decided she was a fluff. Her coat was too long for the show ring. When I got the call asking if I still wanted the breeders major disappointment I had made the two hour drive almost before she hung up the phone.
So my rainbow wouldn't be complete without the dog of my heart. Maybe not the best light blue shot representation - but wonderful to me.
Awww, that's lovely. You do realise that the majority of the commentaries on your posts bring a lump to my throat. A perfect pale blue for your challenge xx
What a touching story and I'm so happy that you got the puppy of your dreams. I think this blue is beautiful and the eyes are the soul to the heart and she definitely has one to connect so strong with you. Nice photo.
@granny7 My sister has an adorable "pound puppy" as a direct result of the eyes being a soul to the heart... Katy said it was one look at her eyes and she knew the dog would be going home with her! :)
