The deeper water in the alley puddle formed these geometric ice designs. The fractured pieces of the puddle surround the designed section of the puddle. These pieces were fractured by vehicles driving through the puddle. Since the alley was muddy, these fractured pieces got mud on them.
Although I am switching my focus in March to photographic exercises (most likely color photos), I plan to continue the puddle series as long as the puddle exists. I am learning a lot from photographing the puddle. For example, I had to hold my camera at a 45 degree angle to get the designs to show up. I will do the puddle shots in BW, which will give me needed practice in BW processing. So.....the puddle series continues.
