Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandmother Eliza Valard Huguenin by darylo

Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandmother Eliza Valard Huguenin

Why, oh why, does everyone in my family have the same damned name as each other? Ok, this one is really having me scratch my head, but the back of the photo to the left of the grand dame in the middle shows handwriting by my Great grandfather in 1917. On the back of this photo, he explains that she is his father's (Edward J. Thomas's) maternal grandmother--
This is the Huguenin family my grandmother always told me she came from (the French stock, so to speak)

So this is the maternal side of EJ Thomas's lineage. Eliza Valard Huguenin Thomas was the daughter (I think--it's really hard to find the right person) of John Huguenin (1782-1835) and
Eliza E. Vallard (sp?) Huguenin (1826-1863; no known memorial).

What I DID make sense of was a frame of a family crest we've had in the family forever (Huguenin)--that will be subject of the next photo OR the lady in the corner on the left of this photo (I THINK she is the wife of Edward Jonathan Thomas).

Y'all must think I'm crazy. That is, IF you read this far. Hot Dog points for all!

Another "Launey" photography "copy" signed by photographer. These are taken quite early in time I believe!
Hot dog but I HAVE given up on trying to keep them all straight! I don't envy you that chore!

Isn't it incredible to see the detail of the standard dress in those days!
