I've made it to my year one END yay!!! It was easy for I'd say about half the year and not so much for the rest of it haha...I'm happy I stayed the course even if not diligently :D I started with a few people and NONE of them made it so hey I'm more diligent than them, right? :-P I am sticking around tho probably not daily!! Hope to continue to see you here & find some new people to follow.
Anyhoo...I thought it would be fun to look back and see what was my most popular pic of the year versus what was my favorite. If you have an ace account you can look at your wacky stats to see what the site says is the #1 rated pic, if not just what you remember being the most popular.
So according to my stats for some reason this is my #1 rated pic lol...
It does not have the most views, fav's or comments but it is 1!
This one has the most views/fav's/comments but is at #5 somehow...
I know many of you have far more than 7 fav's but that is high for me!! ;)
And wow I have a lot of favorites from the year for different reasons, I tried to pick one, so here's 3.
Although I have kind of finished (need to post the pictures) this one is the most popular.
This is my favourite image as it was technically challenging, had feeling (as a close friend of my tired to kill herself so it was me brining awareness to depression) but it kinda looks interesting.. I still have a sore jaw from holding on to that branch.
@agima Ah yes I remember the 2nd one well!! I never saw the first one, it is ridiculously cute tho, people love a cute doggie! ;) Congrats on being (pretty much) done!
Nice idea for a thread, and rather more difficult than I first thought.
This one is by far my most popular...
My favourite is a little more difficult. I have several, some for personal reasons (like a photo of my son looking at the Eiffel Tower from Montparnasse) and some for esthetic reasons (like the tree above). Overall I think that my favourite is probably this seascape, for a mixture of reasons. I love the contrast between the sunny blue sky and the storm clouds, with the tiny boat, so small and insignificant to the weather systems. It was also a lovely family day from a holiday in Devon...
I am also rather fond of this self portrait from in a washing machine...
@harveyzone I can see why the tree is your most popular, I love it myself! I have developped major fog envy over the year as I never ever get any here. Love the washing machine selfie too lol.
@sparkle Well that makes it an easy choice! Fab shot...
My favourite (not just the finished product but because of how it came about - we were concentrating on the sunrise behind them and hadn't realised they were creeping up on us):
I am not quite finished yet February 14th will be the end for me. Thus far my most popular shot is this: 294 views, 75 comments, 42 favs and top 20...my only photo that has ever made it there and I was suprised at all the love it received.
This one went to the top 20 and its not among my favourites
(that would be because this is a very common sight in São Paulo - everybody does this kind of photo here - it's a not challenging angle or technique)
I like a lot this pic. Shot from the top of the building i work.
I like it specially because later on, a client bought this photo to use on a work of his.
And the more creative shots:
This one for the reflexes:
This for the creative long exposure:
This one for the freelensing technique
And this one for the external flash usage.
And this is my favourite photo of last year. Probably my best pic ever.
Which i had never posted on 365 until now because this is a retake from a photo i did on january 2012.
Also, this pic is from my first year trying to learn photography.
I decided to post it now. I like it a lot for the composition.
This one is probably my personal favorite (with 80 Favs) because it was really hard to get with traffic coming up from behind me and had a real close call but I wanted the shot:
One more personal favorite - the most unusal shot of the ESB - and my first #1:
This was by most popular picture of the year and even made it to the Top 20 for that week:
I have a few favorite shots, I really enjoyed getting to snap the hummingbirds around my garden
The butterflies were amazing
And I "discovered" bokeh
This was clearly my most popular with 72 faves (and yet never made the top 20)
I decided to go with 2 personal faves... my favorite color image and my favorite b&w image.
My favorite b&w image from my project was the result of a get pushed challenge in which I could not do any post processing at all, not even a crop. In the end, I was so proud of the result, I had to sign my name to it.
My personal favorite color image from my project didn't make as many waves with the rest of the 365 community but I love everything about the shot - the lighting, the detail, the composition, the subject. For me personally, its the best image of mine from 2012
I have 12 days left, but here are my two most popular according to the stats:
I think MY own most favorite was my first very popular shot that helped me to realize that I could shoot something besides flowers! (Or should I credit @cromwell ?!?):
SMOKE AND DUST, My most popular with 558 views, 178 comments and 89 favs
MOUSE ANNIHILATOR, is my 2012 favorite because, this is my 16 1/2 year old cat who I had to put to rest on Nov 2nd. He was really a special littl soul.
This is my favourite image as it was technically challenging, had feeling (as a close friend of my tired to kill herself so it was me brining awareness to depression) but it kinda looks interesting.. I still have a sore jaw from holding on to that branch.
you're still posting Brendan....you might have to come back and amend this!! :)

My favorite was a lot harder because there are a ton I like, but here ya go (Nov 18 2012):

My other favorite below hardly got any response, but I adored it:). Maybe it's that my family was in it and it looked impressionistic.
Found this on a bathroom wall of a bike shop...of course I had my camera with me :)

While not my favorite, this one seemed to be very popular with 95 faves.
