So sorry for being absent yesterday ( maybe for some days in the future too) as we are back to loadshedding! Three slots of two and a half hours each, where nothing goes. As it is too bothersome on my little cell, and eats quite a bit of data, I just scroll through without leaving a comment. Will comment as I can.
Oh Diana, it really isn't fun there at the moment, is it? Kindest thoughts with you and yours. We will see you as and when the electricity allows it. In the meantime, take care of yourself and I am sure we all send you our best.
sorry to hear this diana - i would find it very frustrating to be without electricity and unable to create / edit photos or look at 365 and instagram, so dependent have i become! will enjoy seeing your wonderful work whenever you can make it :)
We are right behind you Diana and our other SA members.
I can't imagine what it's like under these conditions.
You do what you need to, thanks for letting us know.
@annied@casablanca@mzzhope@pistache@koalagardens@olivetreeann Thanks for those lovely words of hope. Unfortunately there will probably never be an end to this issue. Eskom, our electricity supplier is bankrupt! There are too many high in the ranks who have been filling their pockets since 94' ;-)
@sdutoit We can only pray, now they are talking of stage 6 :-( @grammyn Thanks Katy, it is quite a nightmare and back to the basics, meaning candles and gas camping stoves ;-)
So sorry, Diana! Such a pain to have to go through this! In Northern California they kept turning off the electricity on a windy day as not to create any fires from the electrical lines in October and November. They need to find a better solution. Certainly, we do not want fires but this was ridiculous and caused schools to close, food to spoil, signals to go out and businesses to close. Crazy awful for you!
@ludwigsdiana I live near CC Folk and having the shutoff threatened just a couple of times was very nerve wrecking. Sorry you have to endure that. Hopefully it gives you more actual photographing time.
