I have enjoyed posting these threads over the last few months and now as July draws to a close I ask, once again, what was your favourite photo of the month?
I know how hard it can be to choose between photos you like but please only post one taken during July.
July hasn't been a great month for me and I think my moods have reflected in a month of particularly uninspired photos. however in the final few days of the month I have felt things improve so I will choose my photo from 31st July and hope that August is a better month for my 365!
@hjbenson Harry, that is stunning! Imagine living in one of those houses with that view out of your window! (If you do live in one of those houses I'm very jealous!)
July was a month of firsts for me. First firework shot, first selfie, first popular page.
However, I really love this shot, it reminds me how peaceful this location was.
@emmar84 Thanks, I think I prefer the detail shown in them as they are when they were dying, much more interesting than when they were in full bloom :) I've applied for a couple of new jobs, so fingers crossed for a new start in a new month! Hope things are improving for you too x
@minxymissk I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I've not heard back for the job I've applied for yet but there's still time. I've also moved locations at work and the differnt office is much calmer so things are more positive heading into August.
I finally became a bit more inventive with my pics during July but despite having several fav's I am going with Jacks birthday pics, holding a plate with a cake on it in one hand and a camera in the other and trying not to shove the candles up Jacks nose was a balancing act all of its own. So I am quite proud of these....
I liked quite a few of my July photos - and loved taking more black & white photos than normal this month, for the b&w challenge/theme.
My number one favourite is from July 3rd - my first attempt at a tiltshift edit
Thought i'd had a bad month but on reflection, it's not been that bad!! I liked a couple from the beginning of the month but i think my favourite is actually from yesterday...
@sarahhorsfall I liek the almost doll like quality of the people in your photo, the vivid colours of hteir clothing adds to the effect.
@proudrhrshipper Well done for completign a month in b&w, it adds a timeless feel to this shot.
@sparkle That photo is beautiful? Have you used a hdr effect on it? If you have you've done it superbly, it adds to the image without being over the top. A beautiful summer photo.
On having looked back through July I realised that I had taken a symbolic photo for all four of my children...s.o...as I can only choose one I went right back to July 1st. The theme that week was minimalism and I had the added theme of green :o)
@emmar84 some great photographs here. I had a good month here in July, but I picked this as I feel this is where my passion may lie. In Macro/closeup/nature
Oh it is hard - I had a few fav - i'm not even picking the one that got top 20 - i'm choosing this one - the place inbetween - a place of dreams - a nice place :)
Got quite a eclectic bunch last month which make it quite hard - so many memories and moments. This one, however, I was really pleased with as I loved the colours and patterns and the man's splattered clothes.
July was a great month for me photo-wise and it's hard to pick just one favorite, but I guess I'll pick this one because not only is it a decent photo but it reminds me of the wonderful time I had on vacation in Montana...
there are two that I really like but I chose to go with this one. Mostly because it is hard for me to ever get a photo of this kid. My nephew doesn't like his photo taken but when he does allow me to take his photo, he usually is making a silly face or a cheesy smile (as opposed to his natural smile)
@glenys Thank you! I made it out of 3 selfies.. tow of them I've cut op into pieces and all the pieces were different layers. Had to ad the shadows on my face digitally to make it more "realistic" :-)
It was hard to choose as I have two very different photos which I like the most for July but in the end it has to be our cat Mia - it is very difficult to take a photo of her with her eyes open.
@alk1991 - welcome to 365. This is a great photo but my only comment would be that it is a little over processed which makes it appear blury and hard on the eyes. Keep going though because you will really enjoy it.
I was tempted by the photo of a peachick that I got on the 1st, but this is my favourite in the end as seeing my favourite band play live was the high point of my month:
@alk1991 - just a little. I am no expert on processing because I am very much a beginner. Maybe try processing it differently to see what the end result would be. :)
It's really hard to choose because my top 5 were all completely different. In the end, I decided this one wins out. I just love the colors. I took for the wheel theme, but I don't think it made the deadline. sigh...

July was the month of great photography for me (even if they're not all on here... I'd rather have bleeh pictures then cheat) so it's hard to pick... but I can narrow it down to one. it being my cousin and her baby because it is the perfect picture I should make some prints for the family
@emmar84 thank you so much! I didn't even have to do much. Robin and I were at opposite ends of a reflecting pool (her photo is of Alecio and I). I just cloned out an annoying person from behind and cropped a little. I think that was about it!
emma....your photos are beyond gorgeous.....i just moved to the island of sanibel here in the state of florida....and i have found photography a must.....sooo glad you are enjoying your life and your photos are an indication of a great one......enjoy and my goodness.....you are a PHOTOGRAPHER of a mayor kind....wow
I am seriously behind at the moment - due to the fact that I can barely keep up with life at the moment let alone this project... however with that said - I did manage to keep up for most of July - even if most of it was the film festival... with that said, I just loved this pic of my little niece...
Funny how I love them each when I post them, then to go back and se them later, I only like a few... daily posting keeps us from editing as finely. I am quite fond of this one still.
However, I really love this shot, it reminds me how peaceful this location was.
@mej2011 Congratulatiosn for making PP. I like the softness of this shot
Waiting... (6th July)
Thank you so much Emma!
@petra You'e captured a great expression on the girls face, it looks like a storm is brewing there, I can almost feel the wind.
this is probably my favourite:
Probably this one because it's the first pic in ages that I got her eyes straight on without her blinking.
@lolanae Brandie, she has beautiful eyes
My number one favourite is from July 3rd - my first attempt at a tiltshift edit
@proudrhrshipper Well done for completign a month in b&w, it adds a timeless feel to this shot.
@sparkle That photo is beautiful? Have you used a hdr effect on it? If you have you've done it superbly, it adds to the image without being over the top. A beautiful summer photo.

@notliz I love this! The wellies, tutu and the fact she's off to feed the birds.
this one because it was on our wedding anniversary, and i think it's a perfect shot to portray that perfect day we had.
I go with this one because I rarely take indoor photos.
:)
This is my fav, this month because I didn't have to edit it on bit. awe...
I'd have to say this one
It still makes me laugh
I just love how unusual this firework photo turned out to be. Also, I was giddy that I was actually able to capture some decent photos of fireworks!
feed back is welcome, im new to this site :) cheers
It had to be our 5 day old grand daughter with my husband.
And this is my beautiful wife ... I can't go past this one!
My baby. :)
18th: really good composition and reminds me of preparing for the "big trip" we had this month
and here is the other...
The rest of the month was fine but these two are my favorite.
My best macro shot to date I think..
This one because I like the photo, but also where I was and who I was with...
It's really hard to choose because my top 5 were all completely different. In the end, I decided this one wins out. I just love the colors. I took for the wheel theme, but I don't think it made the deadline. sigh...
