Landing and taking off...but not really in flight

This was about the second photo I took with my new camera...a DSLR and I had been using a p and s. I had no clue what to do! This heron flew down and was going to land on our dock...saw me and reversed....I hope now I could get a better pic...it was out of focus, thus the texture. I love the composition though...and the memory of taking it!
