Kiwi

Another day with not much in the way of photos. While I was in Queenstown I visited the kiwi encounter and really loved watching the kiwis bounding around their enclosure. Unfortunately I was NOT allowed to take any photos! Yesterday had a quick visit to the Auckland Museum. This photo is of a taxidermy small spotted kiwi. I gave him a slightly different background (better than a cabinet) - which I made darker because they are nocturnal.

my grandparents had a taxidermy kiwi in their house when i was growing up, i think i used to pretend to ride it. wonder where it is now.

@yorkshirekiwi Thanks Carole. I went to the kiwi house when it was time for feeding. They were really lively and I managed to see them just fine. I was itching to try a photo but decided I'd better behave!!
