Mtarfa St Lucija Chapel by elza

Mtarfa St Lucija Chapel

While walking in Mtarfa (Lit on the edge) I discovered a small chapel overlooking the valley of Qlejja. It is dedicated to St Lucia. The chapel was first mentioned in an official document in 1460 and has the common sign seen on many of the rural chapels “Non gode l'immunità ecclesiastica” (Does not enjoy ecclesiastical immunity). In 1761, ecclesiastical immunity was withdrawn from many of the rural chapels and this was indicated on a small marble slab on their façade. It was restored in 2006 and from what I could see it now needs some more maintenance.
This shot is facing west and looking at the back of the chapel. I enhanced this picture by using a preset in Lightroom but used only the suggested vibrance.

Lovely silhouettes.
