Confining the infinit

The tiny chapel at Had dingli is one of many strewn across the islands usually in the countryside. This chapel built in 1646 is dedicated to Mary Magdalene and overlooks the Dingli Cliffs. I wish I knew how to capture the night sky which was perfect on this day as there were no clouds and no moon light.
The "pocket-sized" chapel against the immensity of the night sky reminded me of a discussion my wife and I had the other day, with a very dear friend of ours who happens to be a Jesuit, about the creator of the universe and how our tiny mind tries to encapsulate His grandeur.

Nice shot. I would love to learn how to do astrophotography properly. I have never captured the sky like @taffy or @jgpittenger do. Maybe I will try to learn that skill next year.......though I will have to find somewhere other than the busy and strongly lit town I live in as it is very hard to see the sky above the light pollution!

I believe you would have to do a double exposure or a bracketed series of photos, as the lights on the building are pretty bright. A long exposure is required to capture the stars at night, and the building lights would be blown way out.

It's definitely a wonderful location to try this on...

I agree with @theredcamera. I'd have to shoot the sky separately and combine the two photos during post processing.
