On our way back from my daughter's house to our flat in Gozo, my wife and I had to go round the outskirts of the village of Gharb as the main road was closed due to the feast celebrations. We were both surprised by the red glow in the sky which appeared over the hamlet. I assumed it was the usual fields catching fire from the nearby fireworks display.
