Wow - we can see Lake Titicaca from our hotel room and it is pretty impressive. We have a long journey tomorrow crossing the lake to La Paz in Bolivia so we stayed close to our hotel today. I spent an enjoyable morning trying to photograph all the local birds in the marshy area which is a protected biosphere area. In the afternoon we walked a bit further and found a herd of grazing alpacas and also saw a woodpecker and bird of prey.
Despite all these nature images (none of which were that good I’ll have to admit!), I actually really like the lights of Puno reflected in the lake which I photographed this evening. It was very cold and I had the tripod balanced outside on the hotel fire escape. As I was not sure if I could get back in from outside, Colin volunteered to remain inside (in the warm) to let me back in - very self sacrificing!
It was at this point some 6,500 miles from home that I discovered that my remote control shutter release has stopped working! It was a rapid read of the manual to remind myself how to use the 2 and 10 second shutter delay which will have to do.
The reflections in this are stunning, another fav. So glad Colin was so heroic in helping you take this picture. :) Btw, I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope Colin's back is holding up.
@tristansmum Thank you - it was very chilly! Colin's back is holding up very well although the journey the next day (just about to post) did not help but he's fine - thank you
