16th July 2017

We walked from Teddington into Kingston along the towpath today and I had not realised that it was the day of the annual Dragon Race.

A number of teams race in a league until they are knocked out. Each boat has an elaborate dragons head at the front and in the more experienced team the 'cox' drums the rowing rhythm. Here are three teams soon after the start as they headed downstream.

We continued onto Kingston and enjoyed lunch at our usual cafe followed by collecting a new lampshade and lamp that I had ordered a while ago from John Lewis.
