12th December 2017

I promised myself a day up in town today to buy Christmas presents and to see the lights. I started off by heading to Greenwich, hoping to find some interesting crafts at the market. Unfortunately there were only a few food and antique stalls so I didn't find anything and just had a coffee at the local Waterstones instead.

I headed on the DLR to Bank and then got the tube to Covent Garden where I had a bit more luck on the present front. I treated myself to lunch of parsnip soup at the Crypt and then walked up to Piccadilly and Fortnum and Masons to get the special rose jam my Mum likes and also took the opportunity to sample lots of nice but expensive foods - didn't buy any of them! However I did try some delicious English Cassis made in Hereford which I ended up buying two little bottles of, one for my friend and the other for us for Christmas!

Afterwards I walked up Regent Street which is where I took this shot. I love the decorations which although the same as last year, are really tasteful.

More vouchers bought in Oxford Street and then a long journey home as the trains still have problems.
