3rd August 2018

Today started well but did not end well. It is our last full day with Mum and Ian here in Penzance and the weather was beautiful.

In the morning we headed to St Just to see a large and very good art and craft show. In the afternoon we went for a paddle on Penzance beach at low tide. This is when the disaster happened. I wanted to photograph Gulliver bear and his younger brother GJ and thought balanced on a rock was a good idea. Great shot but as I stood back to admire my work… plop! I didn’t know what it was for a fraction of a second when I realised that my phone has fallen in the sea. Although it was only up to my knees, there was a lot of seaweed and it took me about 10-15 seconds to locate it and very quickly dry it off.

It appeared to be working although not the speaker but I was not too worried and even got a woman on the each to take great photo of the four of us together which was what was supposed to be todays photo. Unfortunately once we got home I thought I’d turn off the phone and leave in the airing cupboard to dry out. My phone died. It never came on again. RIP iPhone 6.

Fish and chips in the evening were nice but I was still kicking myself for being so stupid!
Sorry about the phone. delightful shot of the bears
