Another early get up for Saturdays park run - today with a difference. It is the 15th birthday of Park Run at Bushy Park and it was my running milestone of my 50th park run on the same day.
The balloon that Roy and Julia had given me yesterday had a massive 50 on it and they wanted me to run the route with it! I know how annoying it is to carry one and how annoying it is to be the person behind getting hit by it so I made it a very small ‘lead’ and tied it to my upper arm.
There were a lot more runners than usual and there were prizes given out at first. Finally we were off - despite a slight hindrance, in actual fact the ballot was great as so many people congratulated me as I went around and patted me on the back! As it was my 50th I did take a lot of photos including with a lady called Elisabeth who is very well known by the runners as she come to watch and clap us on every Saturday come rain or shine. The corner of the route where she waits in her chair has even been renamed Elizabeth’s Corner!
The BBC were filming as well and despite not being interviewed, I spotted my balloon in a distant shot of hundreds of runners so technically I was on tv!!
