10th January 2021

Day 298 since the start of the 1st lock down.

It was bitterly cold today and the frost was so thick that it looked like snow after the thick fog last night.

Today I worked on updating my Etsy shop by adding packs of local greeting cards which I had photographed yesterday using my photographic lights. I also did three lots of washing. It was Charley’s 20th birthday today as well but sadly the cards and vouchers that we sent in good time last week as not reached her and James in time due to the delays in the Royal Mail system due to staff shortages down to Covid19 amongst the staff.

The biggest and saddest news of the day is that Colin’s cousin Tony Kitson has passed away. His son Jeremy called us this afternoon and although it was not a total surprise as Colin spoke to him in hospital earlier in the week, the nurse had implied that he was not at 'deaths door' and so we were not given permission to visit. I am very sad as although his level of grumpiness matched and possibly exceeded Colin’s he was really kind to me and I miss our visits to see him and his wife Janet and Honey the dog. I am not sure how his funeral will be arranged in these times of lock down but we will be allowed to go as funeral attendance is allowed.

RIP Tony. He missed out on making his 86th birthday by a day as it would have been tomorrow and we had sent him a card.
