30th December 2021

1 year, 270 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

After yesterdays drive we had a bit of a lie in this morning. After lunch we walked to Newlyn in drizzle but sadly could not walk around the harbour as dogs are not allowed. On the way back we got an excellent sight of two seals swimming very close to the beach. Despite not having my Canon, they were so close that I could get photos on my iPhone. We continued walking down to the Lido and then cut back through the town. I nipped into the Co-op for a couple of bottles of mulled wine that none of us had been able to get before we visited.

Once back after a cup of tea we finally opened our parcels. Mum and Hester had printed their wrapping paper with little stamps - I had not but I compensated with a lot of ribbon instead. I had some great presents - books I had asked for and others that I hadn’t, earrings, shower gel and lots of other lovely presents. I can honestly say that we do make an effort to find lovely gifts for each other.

We enjoyed lots of wine and multiple sausage variations with mash for dinner!
