I got up at 7.15 as I got a text telling me that Ikea would be delivering between 7.30-11.30. I unlocked the door and had a snooze on the sofa until I got the pre delivery call from the driver. This gave me time for a shower and the chaps delivered bang on time and in good PPE. Although I had been rather annoyed that the bookcases were only available via delivery at £40, when we felt the weight of the single case I was very glad they had been delivered. I had planned to paint the backs of them the same colour as the walls but unfortunately the way they are made has changed and I was concerned that using a water based emulsion could cause the backs to warp. After much discussion I decided it simply wasn’t worth it and so they will remain white - they probably will not notice much at all once the books are back on the shelves.
In the afternoon I photographed the glass DVD cases that we’ve moved out of the wardrobe and posted a number of adverts on Gumtree, FaceBook and NextDoor website. I also tried to locate the hand printed Christmas cards that Hester has created over the past ten years. I was convinced I had them stored together but I am missing 4 so I will have to have another search tomorrow. I want to create a montage of the images for the front bedroom. I then thought I’d move onto ordering a print of my favourite Venice photograph with ‘ICM’ - after 1-2 hours I still had not managed it due to aspect ratio and other issues so I have put it back to tomorrow and I will have to call the print studio for help.
We had the last of the pancake mix left over from yesterday so this evening we had the traditional style pancakes - delicious.
