1 year, 193 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020
This morning I made up the card order for Squires and afterwards I bit the bullet and hand delivered my unpaid invoice of a number of months to the parents of the Lib Dem councillor that I had worked for in July. I cannot believe how accommodating I was to him on one of the hottest days of the year and he simply will not pay his invoice.
The embarrassing moment was to receive not only a very apologetic phone call from the Councillors father but a further written email apology form his mother and a promise that they would settle the bill immediately. This is good news and the payment has gone in but I feel bad as they were not to blame and were lovely when I met them. I have a feeling from the way they spoke that their son has done this before. How bad to have to be bailed out by your parents when you are clearly in your late forties!
