Snowing again! We decided to go for one of our favourite circular walks today - through Bushy Park, over Kingston bridge and back home along the Thames towpath.
I photograph the deer - both Fallow and Red - all through the year but it is often easier in the winter when they are concentrating on finding food rather than being concerned about photographers. These Fallow stags (or Bucks) were on the move to find some grass in between the dead ferns. Damp knees again, must check my waterproof trousers!
@nicoleterheide@steampowered@nicolaeastwood@whdphotog@ruthmouch@maggiemae@oconnor71 - Thank you everyone, there were quite a few that were not very good! We are lucky living so close to Bushy Park @jewelsandbinoculars - Yes, well spotted, Bushy Park has some great big Mistletoe 'balls' in the Oak and Hawthorn trees and an amazing tee just a short distance away in Hampton Court that I may well use for a photo one day (with a blue sky!) @blincodave - Thank you Dave, I'm about to have a look at your project :-)
@danette - thank you, I only had a kit lens (17-85mm) with me as my main lens is being serviced so I had to get in close but kept low to the ground, hence the wet knees!!
What fun getting so close and low to those amazing creatures. Worth all the wet knees. YOu caught the movement so beautifully, You can see by his eyes that he knows you are there but is carrying on. Not a threat. YOur viewpoint - so low gives strength to the photo. And the weather !! Just adds to the atmosphere - the snow on his coat and the grey background. What a connection.
