Woohoo! WOW! I am reeeallly jealous too. Read that manual from cover to cover and then read it again as this is a real step up from your existing beastie.
@padlock@huvesaker Thank you... I'm a bit nervous! @danitech It is a stupid price but Canon are doing a cashback offer at the moment until the 31st of May in case you are tempted! @steampowered Oh dear... I'm really rubbish with manuals but in a way I think I prefer to read the manual rather than start using it for a bit! Nobody hold their breath waiting to see the camera model change on this project... it may be some time!
Envy. YOu are now going to take even more superb photos. But as a Wellington Professional photographer whom I just took a course says - it doesn't matter what camera you have - its the 6 inches behind it that counts. I want the Nikon equivalent - the D 800.
Oh how exciting I love new cameras or lenses etc. etc. the list just goes on and on!! I have the Canon 5D mark 11 - what extra does the mark 3 give you I wonder. I shall be watching with interest!!
@serpantmedia@helixconcepts@nicolaeastwood@pamknowler@pam1 Thanks all, be patient with me while I figure out how it works! The manual is nearly an inch thick which gives you an idea of all the stuff I need to learn. @steampowered OK, I did put the battery in last night and took a photo of the Sky menu on the TV at 2000 ISO in low light - how sad am I? Quality was pretty good though!!
@pam1 I should have said, despite the Nikon (joke!) your tutor was absolutely right! There is an acronym here that photographers use - ATGNI - 'All The Gear, No Idea'!! @pamknowler I'm upgrading from a Canon 50D so it is a big leap. I was planning on the 5D Mk2 but then Canon decided to bring out the Mk3!
