The Waterloo Elephant.

Every time I travel on the Jubilee line from Waterloo I pass this fantastic sculpture of a life-size elephant made out of chicken wire. Today I travelled to London Bridge and decided I would make him the subject of the day. He was created by sculptor Kendra Haste in 2000 as part of an underground safari exhibition in Gloucester Road and then bought by London Transport to mark the opening of the Jubilee line from Waterloo.

He is truly amazing and it is great to watch visitors reaction to him!
How odd, definitely something I wouldn't expect to see in a tube station...

Probably life size? They have chosen great lighting for him! The way you have shot the photo is like he is thundering straight at you!

Yes, he's wonderful, and I love the light on him. I have a very soft spot for the real ones, hope the ivory poaching is stopped.
