25th May 2013

Today I photographed my first wedding reception... not something I normally do but it was a friend of a friend etc...

It was a long day but everyone was very happy and were still partying hard when we eventually left at 11pm. I'm now busy editing from over 500 photographs now down to about 150.
That sounds like a lot of time to do this editing! However taking that many means there will be heaps of good ones!

@maggiemae You are so right! I was 'persuaded' to do it!! I normally steer well clear as despite popular thought, I am a firm believer that wedding work is a specialist type of photography and it is very stressful as it is normally a one off chance to get it right. Not aiming to add this sort of work to my repertoire!!

Beautiful photo. think you could make this your full time job. What a lovely portrait shot, the tones so even on their skins, the light just right, the clarity amazing on the flowers and his hair. And her hair, and eyelashes. They should be very pleased.

What a lovely shot. I like the feeling in it, the background, and the bride's colour and beauty against that background. I'm sure the bride and groom will love the pictures.

@pam1 @tristansmum Thank you both, I still think the stress is too much to make this a regular event!! I have almost finished the prepping now 513 down to 150. Shooting in RAW is great because getting the settings spot on each time is difficult and so I can fairly easily 'claim back' the image.
