Skunk Cabbage

East River Preserve is full of these skunk cabbages. I love the late afternoon light and the spring greens. SOOC.

Ah, just looked it up, named because of the odour it gives off, has a nice looking flower though!

@hudd I will try to get a photo of the unusual pod-like purple flower which actually appears in the early spring mud before the leaves.
