"Bear Corn"

I spotted this unusual plant in the leaf litter on our hike yesterday, and then we saw them all over the woods on a portion of our hike. I have tentatively identified it as Conopholis americana, a parasitic plant that can only grow attached to the roots of oak trees: https://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/plant-of-the-week/conopholis_americana.shtml
Great find and shot, the light is lovely and the name very appropriate.

I've seen this in wildflower guidebooks, but not in real life. I keep looking for it, along with Beech Drops. Great shot.
