This is one section of one of three solar farms that sit in a five mile radius of each other.
Ontario rules and regulations prohibit solar farms to be located on prime, productive farmland so they were located in a heavily forested area. The trees were logged, rocks were picked, and ironically, the land became prime farmland.
However, since construction permits were already issued, the solar farms went ahead.
Home owners in the immediate area raised concerns about the decommissioning of these farms once their life expectancy is over but their concerns were ignored.
I ask you - is this good for the environment?
I think I'd prefer solar farms that can be relatively well hidden to the windfarms that keep popping up around us. They are so unsightly on our landscapes and most of the time the propellers aren't even turning so how are they generating power? Were went to Wales a couple of summers ago and you couldn't photograph out to see because the cost was swapped with the 😮😮
Well which is the worst evil, solar, windmills, fracking, nuclear power, we could go on Wendy. I gphave no idea but like most people probably say as long as its not in my back yard! We have the first fracking exploration about five miles away from us. There are many proresters blocking the roads & of course the neighbouring houses are very unhappy. It's a road & area I never go on so I put it out if my mind. Wrong I know but that's nature! We use so much energy in this modern world, it has to come from somewhere!
