Well - I was supposed to be driving the kids back to school today but had an early call from the bus company saying that buses were cancelled.
So, I had an extra day to clean the basement and load the truck to do a dump run tomorrow. Oh, yay!!
Wow! That's a lot of snow! I was in Mississauga, Ontario the week after Christmas and they had quite a bit of snow there. It's exciting for me to experience snow any chance I get because we rarely have snow in San Antonio. :-)
Snow is a rare occurrence here. We're an hour from both the West and North coasts of Brittany which significantly diminishes the occurrence of extreme weather;-)
my back aches just thinking of how you'd shovel all that snow to get the car out. but snow isn't bad, it's when it thickens into ice that's not very good.
there was a car stalled in the bus stop the other day when it was snowing heavily. driver kept stepping on the accelerator and the car just slips and goes back. i motioned for him to turn his wheel to the left and gently glide it to the lane that's not covered with snow. he must be dyslexic as he kept turning the steering wheel in the opposite direction. i told him he should get winter tires for his vehicle and he said they're going to wherever it was he said to have them changed. on the day it was snowing quite heavy. i almost wanted to kick him out of the drivers seat and drive his car to the side street. but two young bucks just pushed his car until he got out of the rut he created. then drove ever so slowly like a turtle instead of stopping on the side street to call CAA. hopefully he didn't encounter the same thing anymore as he was still driving on the lane that had more snow than here he had a problem.
@summerfield
Hubby has a skidsteer (small bobcat type machine) that we use to pick up hay bales, clean out barn, and clean up snow. It does wonders - so the only 'manual' snow shoveling that I do - and yes - it is me - is our walkway and decks.
My van would have been snowed n if it weren't for that!
