York Fire Station by fishers

York Fire Station

The fire station has been in its current position on Clifford Street since 1938 and encompasses what was the old fire station as well as a chapel. But it's set to close and move to another part of the city, so this will no doubt become a historic picture in due course! - Lucy
A real traditional Fire Station. Lovely capture.

Great view of something soon will be the past history

These sort of shots will only increase in value as time goes on. I'm a big fan of the old photos in the local paper that show buildings etc that are no longer there

Lovely shot of the old station Lucy:-)

Hope they find another use for the building. Our old fire station was demolished to make way for shops

@purplehaze12 Sadly a lot of places seem to be empty at the moment. I'm sure they'll find something for it. It would make a great dance studio if anyone could afford to do it up, it's a huge space and it's probably well equipped for pole dancing ;) - Lucy

@bkbinthecity Not sure they have plans yet, but hopefully it won't be empty for too long. - Lucy

Good shot! I'll have to show my husband this - he has set up his GPS - when driving and approaching a fire station the GPS device emits a trumpeting sound - makes me smile. Cheers to all firefighters - professionals and volunteers! :)

@pictureme Haha, brilliant! I suppose it makes people aware that emergency vehicles will be around, which has to be a good thing :) - Lucy
