While I was visiting Lucy in Lancaster, we went on a number of walks. We found this weather vane near Sunderland Point, a remote hamlet on a peninsula where the River Lune flows into Morecambe Bay - a place on my list of walks that I have long wanted to do.
Access by road to Sunderland Point has to be timed with the tides, since the road is flooded at high tides! We walked out there along the road and back on field paths, having taken lots of photos of the hamlet and headland.
Witches are an integral part of history in this part of Lancashire. Lancaster was where the trial of the Pendle Witches was held in 1612, and where the executions of some of them took place. For those interested in their story, there is a website - http://www.pendlewitches.co.uk
