I've posted several of York's timber-framed buildings and to provide some contrast here is the Stonebow building. This 1960's example of concrete architecture from the Brutalist school is in the heart of the city around 2 minutes walk from the famous Shambles.
This listed building is home to a number of businesses and a nightclub that hosts live bands.
Everyone seems to have an opinion about the architecture which polarises into the love it or hate it debate.
Every time has his own architecture and time is the judge. Somewhere I like it.
Thank you very much Katharine for you visit, nice comment and the fav. It makes my day
@padlock@gamelee There is constant debate about this building. At the moment one group want it demolishing and another are proposing converting it into a hotel! Katharine
@gillg@bruni Thank you. Personally I like the older buildings and we have some more recent building that is sympathetic to this ancient city. May post a picture or two later in the project of these. Katharine
