Autumn gave every indication of happening early this year, but a long warm period in September and October has extended it and it seems to be going on and on. A brief cold and frosty spell last week has given way to more mild weather, with temperatures here reaching 10°C today.
Here, an afternoon walk to the Homestead Park at the weekend found carpets of leaves on some of the lawns, with the low sun emphasising and exaggerating their beautiful colours.
