It's quite a while since I visited the Castle Museum in York, so while in the city centre I thought it was high time I paid a visit.
York's history is fascinating and varied, but on this visit my attention was caught by the display of the 1960's. The large symbols in this image are suspended from the ceiling, and include iconic memories like flower power, ban the bomb, the mini car and free love.
Other parts of the exhibition included video clips of TV programmes of the time - Blue Peter, Dr Who and others, while there are displays of clothes, games and children's toys.
A school party was involved in answering a questionnaire about this "old stuff", as they put it. As someone who spent much of the sixties as a teenager, I'm afraid that I don't see it as old, just comfortably worn-in!
Thank you John - there are quite a few changes being made here, with the toy gallery being revamped, and the military displays closed while a new centenary of WW1 display is set up for next year.
Thank you Debbie, I was trying to get in as many of the symbols as I could, but this was the beast I achieved.
