Chinatown is an amazing London backwater near Leicester Square. All the street signs are in Mandarin and English, and there's plenty of Chinese merchandise to buy in the tiny shops.
Chinatown started in this area in the 1970s, but there has been a high concentration of Chinese businesses and restaurants around the Docklands area since the 20th century to cater for the Chinese sailors that passed through.
I'd love to be in this area for the New Year celebrations when they hang lanterns! - Lucy
Was there a few years ago during the Chinese New Year celebrations, so colourful with lanterns and decorations everywhere. Great shot of this colourful part of our capital city.
