I missed a bus to visit mum and took the opportunity to have a brief half hour wander around the Pavilion in the Botanical Gardens.
The Pavilion is a grade 2* listed curvilinear building and was among the earliest built in this country.
It is set in 19 acres of garden and was first opened in 1836.
The gardens have had extensive renovation over the years, the latest using Heritage Lottery funding along with that of voluntary fund raising.
Various events take place in the gardens and I saw story telling and a wildlife treasure hunt in the brief time I was there.
