The Ferry, Cookham, Berkshire by fishers

The Ferry, Cookham, Berkshire

I'm visiting Louise in Buckinghamshire for a few days, so while she was working today I went exploring. I walked along the riverside path at Marlow eastwards to Bourne End and Cookham, and then returning on a path some way south of the River Thames.

Cookham is a fascinating small town with many old buildings, including the inn featured in today's photo.

I know nothing of its history, but I presume it must be the site of a ferry across the River Thames before the building of a bridge.

I thoroughly enjoyed my walk - it's really nice to discover new places, and this was an entirely new area to me - I've only walked the first few hundred yards of the route before. It was a good area to make good use of my camera as well!
