Taken three days ago, in the evening. This is part of a mass of cloud building up to the north of York, and seen from our home. No doubt someone somewhere under this mass would get rather wet, but we stayed dry.
There has been a lot of thunder and lightning in various parts of the UK over the past few days, with some spectacular rainfall causing localised flooding in places. Fortunately we have escaped this in York so far.

I like the never ending beauty of the sky and its constant changes. It is quite unusual to have such thunder clouds with the moderate temperatures that we have at the moment. Fortunately we were not affected by the rain from this cloud, but there were storms in several areas. In Sheffield a house had it's roof badly damaged by fire caused by a lightning strike. Fortunately nobody in the house was hurt.
I love these big clouds. We had storms yesterday on and off all day. I was in the garden when a rumble turned into a loud bang making me jump and set next doors dogs off barking.

Thank you Pat. I enjoy the drama of the sky. Fortunately this storm missed us but we have had periods of intense rain yesterday and today.
