In recent years bracken has spread more widely on the North York Moors, and in places threatens to take over areas of heather moorland. Attempts have been made to reduce its spread or to remove it, but with mixed success.
Bracken does have a certain attraction, and I liked this display of seasonal colour changes, from the deep green of summer, fading through yellow to the brown of winter.
Thank you all for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
It would be a shame if the bracken was allowed to cover more of the Moors, although I have seen relatively little evidence of attempts to curtail its spread this summer.

Thank you Nina - bracken can be quite attractive and colourful, but it can be a problen as well.
