Circles Garden in Homestead Park by fishers

Circles Garden in Homestead Park

The Circles Garden in Homestead Park, York is a relatively recent development and consosts of three small overlapping circular gardens, each with a feature at the centre, a variety of plants and a circular path around the feature.

Here you can see part of the central circle, with a stone globe at it's centre. When first installed, water flowed from the top soaking the stone globe and bringing out the colours of the bands of rock in it, though it has been a while since that has worked.

The main path from the entrance to the park from the south-west passes this garden, so this is an interesting feature to see as you walk past. There are a couple of benches on the opposite side of the circle and these are a pleasant place to sit and watch the world pass by.

The garden was opened in 2017. It is fully accessible and is designed to be dementia friendly.
