Menagerie by fishers

Menagerie

As I and others have observed, there is always something happening in York, and today I thought I would share with you this rather varied selection of animals that can currently be found on display in various parts of the city centre.

Children seem to find them very interesting and I've seen lots of children climbing on them. I presume they must be artificial grass, otherwise they wouldn't survive all the climbing. The climbing is allowed, but there is a disclaimer notice with each animal to say that you climb at your own risk. They are due to be on display until September, and there are plans to add more animals. This is only a small sample of the collection, though I think that I have taken photos of all those currently on display. I will be keeping watch for more!

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs. they are very much appreciated.

I'm fairly sure that the animals are made of artificial grass - I must confirm that when I am next in the city centre. That won't be for a few days since this weekend is a Bank Holiday and the city centre will be very busy indeed. They are certainly popular with the children, who climb on them, cuddle them, and in the case of the cow attempt to milk it!
