Coppergate Walk and St Marys Square have always had a good display of Christmas lights, and the display has been refreshed and renewed this year. One of the nice things about the new lights is that the floodlit lantern tower of All Saints Church is more clearly visible than with the previous lights.
There were few people around on the bitterly cold evening when I took this shot. Many of the shops were closed, and this was just a quick look and a few photos before catching the bus home.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It was a bitterly cold evening when this shot was taken. We didn't call at the whisky shop, but perhaps we should have! Just a quite quick walk round and a few photos before going for the bus home. In contrast I had another more relaxed walk yesterday evening, when it was quite a lot warmer, and a far more pleasant experience.

York is a beautiful city, if a little busy at times. Always so much to see and new discoveries to be made!

It does indeed! I had planned to take other photos in this area, but it hasn't happened yet!
